Miami Ends 2023 With A Win, Taking Down North Florida In Their Final Non-Conference Game

Norchad Omier Eclipses 1,500 Career Points With A 27 Point Effort In A 95-55 Win

In their last non-conference game of the regular season, Miami took care of business against the North Florida Ospreys 95-55, moving to 10-2. While the Hurricanes have already faced Notre Dame, they'll start the rest of their ACC campaign with Clemson January 3rd.

It was a great night for Norchad Omier, who eclipsed 1,500 career points and put up a season-high 27 points to go with 10 rebounds. While Wooga Poplar has been a rising star this year, the top spot still seems to go to Omier.

On the topic of Poplar, he went down twice this game with a left ankle injury. After rolling his ankle at the end of the first half, he returned for the second to get injured again. His status is unknown, as he'll be vital if Miami wants to take down the red-hot Clemson Tigers.

Nijel Pack also missed a second straight game dealing with a lower body injury, as he's been slow to start this season after dominating in the NCAA Tournament last year from behind the arc.

Five Hurricanes in total finished with double-digit scoring performances, with Paul Djobet and AJ Casey adding seven points each off the bench.

While Miami has taken care of business in their last three games since being blown out by Colorado, their injuries to two key starters could cost them a chance against Clemson who has just one loss this season. If neither Pack or Poplar is either to suit up, expect freshman Kyshawn George to get the start like he did today in Pack's absence.

North Florida had just one double-digit scorer with Chaz Lanier scoring 12 points on the night.

Until January 3rd, Miami needs to get healthy and focus on slowing down ACC Player of the Year frontrunner Clemson's PJ Hall for when they come to town.
