Miami's Disappointing Season Capped Off With Ninth Loss In A Row To Florida State

Hurricanes Finish Season 15-16 Overall And 6-14 In ACC Play As They'll Play In The ACC Tournament Tuesday

If someone told you Miami would finish with a losing record after returning three starters from a Final Four team, you'd likely laugh at them. However it became a reality today.

Looking to end their eight-game losing streak, the Hurricanes headed up to Tallahassee and suffered their ninth loss in a row to conclude the regular season losing 83-75.

Leading the way for the Seminoles was Darin Green Jr. who put up a career day with 26 points on eight made threes. He was one of four Florida State players to finish in double figures, with Jamir Watkins second on the team in scoring with 16 points.

Despite Miami shooting better from the field today, the Hurricanes racked up 16 fouls and gave up 15 points on free throws to the Seminoles. Florida State also controlled the three point line, helping position themselves for a bye in the ACC Tournament.

Nijel Pack was ruled out of this game after sustaining a knee injury to Boston College earlier in the week, capping off a season where he played just 24 of Miami's 31 regular season games.

Norchad Omier finished the regular season with a dominant 16 point and 17 rebound performance, as the ACC Tournament could very well be his last time putting on a Miami jersey. Bensley Joseph did lead the team in scoring with 17 points, but his seven turnovers were costly.

Matthew Cleveland also had a solid game, bouncing back from a poor performance against Florida State earlier in the season at home. The worst part for Cleveland was that he ended up transferring to Miami with high hopes of contributing to a top ACC team, but the Seminoles ended the season with a better record.

Officially ending the regular season with a losing record, the likelihood of making any noise in the ACC Tournament appears out the window. With the transfer portal getting ready to make serious noise, expect for there to be movement for the Hurricanes in the coming days.

In terms of their next game, they'll be playing with their season on the line on Tuesday as they head to Washington D.C. for the conference tournament.
