In this story:

Will the Louisville Cardinals have gained their second loss of the 2023 season after playing the Miami Hurricanes? This contest has pitted two teams that have been favored against the other, depending on the betting website, so it’s been considered a toss-up for which squad comes out on top.

The game has been slated for a noon kickoff tomorrow and anyone can find all the game details here.

For the Canes, the following three players need to have played top-notch football for Miami to win, and they should do so based on the following information.

1) Henry Parrish, Jr. will produce a top game after not playing versus Florida State.

Running back depth took a hit versus Florida State. Not having Henry Parrish, Jr., yes, that hurt Miami's chances to win. Mark Fletcher, Jr. still performed well, and so did Don Chaney, Jr., as the two combined for 28 carries and 132 yards. The Canes could have used Parrish’s speed and elusive moves against the Noles, however.

Well, he’s expected back against the Cardinals. Look for Parrish’s time off to be a benefit and for him to lead the Canes in rushing. Running backs get nicked up; Parrish will have been better for the time off to heal and has a chance to go for 100 yards against a talented Cardinals defensive front.

2) Corey Flagg, Jr. has taken a major step forward and should be considered one of Miami’s better players.

Remember the tackle Corey Flagg, Jr. made against Clemson’s Cade Klubnik at the goal line? He read and reacted to Klubnik’s ill-advised quarterback run as well as Miami linebacker coach Derek Nicholson could have hoped.

He’s been on fire ever since. Whether it’s been blitzing at the right moment to maximize his chances of blowing up a play or making a form tackle near the line of scrimmage, Flagg has been money.

Against a quality Louisville offense, it will be fun to see what Flagg can do. Heck, the combination of Flagg and Francisco Mauigoa have been as good a 1-2 punch at middle linebacker as any team in the country.

3) Xavier Restrepo will get back on track.

Louisville’s passing defense has ranked 41st nationally by allowing 208.2 yards per game, including being susceptible to some big plays. Having that fact already in mind, a key Cane can get back on track.

Earlier in the season, Xavier Restrepo was a key receiver for the Canes but has only caught 6 passes for 83 yards during the prior three contests, including a goose egg versus Florida State.

Restrepo and Tyler Van Dyke have been close friends and that connection will come alive against Louisville. Look for the high-energy slot receiver to come up with at least four receptions against the Cardinals.
