Talented Dual-Sport Athlete Has Canes in Top Group

In this story:
Coming from a background where basketball was a part of his upbringing, Brauntae Johnson has eventually maneuvered towards being a football player.
Someone that’s been able to cut and slash to the hoop with his 6-foot-3 and 175-pound frame has also become one of the top wide receiver and safety prospects in the country.
Rivals has Johnson rated as a 4-star and the 56th best player in the country. Many college programs have come a long way to recruit the Ft. Wayne (Ind.) North Side talent and he’s finally starting to narrow his list.

At one time, many believed Notre Dame was the team to watch. That’s not likely the case any longer. In fact, it’s much more difficult to predict where he will end up.
Johnson has yet to announce any of his official visits via social media, and the above list have programs from the Pac 12, Big 10, ACC and SEC. To say the least, that’s a very diverse list of college football programs to choose from.
Considering Miami needs both wide receiver and safety prospects within the 2024 class, Johnson would be a prospect to watch if the Canes can get him on campus for an official visit.
Keep in mind, the Hurricanes did not sign a big receiver within the 2023 recruiting class. That could be a part of the pitch that Mario Cristobal and the Canes present to this young man.
