With Chance Robinson joining the fold right after the Miami spring game, the Hurricanes picked up their third verbal commitment for the class of 2024.

The dynamic playmaker from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Saint Thomas Aquinas has been ranked the No. 201 player in the nation by Rivals, as well as the 34th prospect within the state of Florida.

Robinson took a few moments to discuss two prime reasons he decided to commit to Miami. First up, the 6-foot-2 and 190-pound wide receiver followed The U as he grew up in Florida.

“Honestly, I grew up watching the Canes my entire life,” Robinson said with a smile. “Me and my dad have been Canes fans. We’ve been to a whole bunch of games.”

“I always said it was a dream come true to be a Cane, so that’s where I’m at and I’m just going to try and build something special.”

Another major reason for Robinson selecting Miami would be a staff effort of recruiting him. That’s the mentality of the Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal. He has always wanted his staff to be involved and not just one or two coaches with a recruit. That being stated, Robinson did enjoy talking about Cristobal and what he’s like to be around.

“Mario Cristobal, he’s a genuine dude. A lot of energy. Great coach that’s passionate. You have to love a coach that cares what’s going on with his players.”

As for Cristobal’s personality at a practice or around the football office, Robinson also chimed in about that subject.

“He’s active; he’s never sitting down. He’s always on the hop. Cristobal is moving faster than some of the players on the field.”

“You know, the coaches can’t want it more than the players, but that’s how bad he wants it.”
