Future 50 Defensive Back Report

Watching the seven-on-seven action last night, in conjunction with the defensive back drills and one-on-ones earlier in the day, want to provide an overview of some of the defensive backs from the Under Armour Future 50.
This is a really diverse group of players and this list certainly did not include everyone. It is a tremendously deep group and these are the players that have been seen the most to give an evaluation.
List in no particular order.
Jaboree Antoine, Safety, New Iberia (La.) Westgate
Frame screams Power 5; well proportioned. Hard to get a pass over the top of him. Still breaks on the football well. Could probably play some cornerback in a cover 3 scheme.
Faheem Delane, Cornerback/Safety, Silver Spring (Md.) Our Lady of Good Counsel
Changes direction well. Accepts coaching. Likely to end up at safety and/or nickel safety long-term, but Delane also has the size and movement skills to play man coverage. Considering his maturity and dedication, Delane could end up being the best defensive back from this entire group. He’s certainly in the conversation.
Hylton “Drake” Stubbs, Safety, Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin
Has sprouted up to 6-foot-2 and looks the part. Does well coming downhill, but also had a really nice pass breakup on the end zone. Could end up being a nickel safety in the box. Several long-term options for Stubbs and his offer list backs that up.
Blake Woodby, cornerback, Upper Marlboro (Md.) St. Frances Academy
The ideal slot cornerback with big-time speed (4.41 earlier in the day), Woodby just needs to refine technique and keep grinding. The hustle and effort to break on the ball are there. Chance to be an elite college player. Watch out for Clemson and Ohio State.
DJ Lee, Cornerback/Safety, Mission Viejo (Calif.) High School
Could be a cover 3 cornerback, but his best position for the college level should be considered safety. Lee’s height and length is ideal for the backend of the defense. Need to see him in the run game during real action to gain a better perspective of his overall safety ability. Like where he's at with mirroring a wide receiver, especially for such a long and rangy defensive back.
Kelvion Riggins, Linebacker, Forney (Texas) South Oak Cliff
While a linebacker, Riggins stood out during seven-on-seven play. As ripped as any player in attendance, Riggins is a tremendous athlete and high-level competitor.

His ability to run with slot receivers shows just how much he can help as a three-down linebacker. Tremendous upside.
Jett White, Cornerback, Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School
Comfortable in zone or man, it’s obvious that White has and continues to learn his craft. Like the way he communicated with his other defensive backs. Carries himself like a young man that wants to be great.
Micah Strickland, Cornerback, Brownsboro (Texas) High School
Strickland's length, as shown in the photo, is what college coaches desire. Cannot teach that. He's capable of playing bump-and-run or being a zone player. Strickland just needs technical work and time. That frame though, that's a lot of material to work with. Already a strong young man, too.
