With Luke Moga Setting Decision Date, Miami QB Recruiting Close to Being Finalized?

In this story:
After not being able to sign two quarterbacks within the 2023 recruiting class in large part due to the Jaden Rashada saga, the expectation has been that Miami would likely take two signal callers for the class of 2024 to help balance out the depth chart.
The Canes already secured the commitment of Peach State signal caller Judd Anderson on April 7. Now, another quarterback that head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Shannon Dawson have been recruiting has announced his decision date.
Quarterback Luke Moga comes from Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope, and he was in Coral Gables for an unofficial visit to Miami back in late March. That was actually Moga’s second trip to visit the Hurricanes.
Moga did an interview with All Hurricanes back on March 28, stating the following about Dawson’s offense:
"His offense is air raid, but tailored to strengths of QB. Obviously I’m different than TVD (Tyler Van Dyke), but he isn’t afraid to tailor it. He’s a super laid back coach, but when it’s time to be on the field he coaches hard, which is what I like."
When Moga visited it was a scrimmage day for the Canes. He still had plenty of time with Cristobal despite the busy schedule.
"Had dinner with him, great man, great coach and super fun to be around," Moga said. "He really cares about his players during and outside of football."
While not confirmed based on Moga’s above tweet, during his interview, he had also made it clear to All Hurricanes that he planned to take an official visit to Coral Gables. Time will tell if that official visit still takes place or not.
As for the programs that Miami will likely be battling to gain Moga’s signature, there’s been buzz around Oregon as much as any other program. The Ducks landed Elite 11 signal caller Austin Novosad from the last recruiting class and did not yet gain a commitment from a 2024 quarterback.
