Miami Recruiting Predictions: The Hurricanes Will Sign These Three Prospects

Three Miami recruiting projections that go outside the box

Miami's 2025 recruiting cycle is just getting started but there are four prime recruits that the Canes should land.

To be clear, this list could be larger as Miami is doing well with many recruits some may not expect them to sign. Plus, it's not just low-hanging fruit. Each of the following recruiting targets is inside the nation's top-75 prospects.

Here are my three bold recruiting predictions.

1) Dallas Wilson, the No. 22 player by the 247 composite rankings, will sign with Miami. He's long since been committed to Oregon, and that's all well and good, but it's hard for a Tampa prospect to sign with a program out in Eugene, Ore.

Wilson is going to take his official visit to Miami on June 7. There's no guarantee the Canes secure a commitment by that time or even shortly after. However, come December, Miami is the better bet to sign Wilson because of the effort UM is putting into recruiting him and the proximity to home being more manageable for Wilson and his family.

2) Back in Chicago, the Canes strike gold once again. This time it's defensive lineman Nathaniel Marshall, the #30 player in the country per the 247 composite. Illinois (June 7) and Miami (June 21) both have official visits set with Marshall. It's just hard to see the Illini out-recruit the Hurricanes.

Illinois is going to make every effort, and so will several other programs up North like Michigan and Michigan State. In the end, the Canes get it done. The success of signing each of Justin Scott and Marquise Lightfoot from the 2024 class, both from Chicago, will help the Canes cross the finish line with Marshall.

3) The all-around skills of Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng are incredible. With how Miami linebackers coach Derek Nicholson coaches and recruits, the Hurricanes will win a tight race over Notre Dame, Stanford, South Carolina, and many other programs.

Coming from IMG Academy helps Miami for the #71 prospect nationally because it is closer to where he's used to living than the other programs and the Hurricanes have multiple IMG players on the current roster.
