Miami's Cornerback Recruiting Board

Which cornerbacks will the Hurricanes sign?

Miami must have a top-notch 2025 cornerback class.

The position needs even more talent and overall numbers. UM is positioning itself well through the early portion of the 2025 recruiting cycle, however.

Here are prime recruiting targets for the Canes, with several opportunities to add to an already talented 2025 commitment list. The following prospects will have a Rivals ranking by their name and additional information regarding each prospect's recruitment.

Keep in mind, that this is not a complete list of which cornerbacks could land at UM. It's still early in the process and this list will undoubtedly change. To that point, Miami just offered Shmar Akande, a local cornerback recruit. With that in mind, here are five elite cornerback prospects that could sign with the Hurricanes.

DJ Pickett 6-4 170 Zephyrhills (Fla.) High School #9

Arguably the nation's top recruit, Pickett is hovering around five to seven programs that he will consider possibilities. Florida and Florida State are battling for official visits.

Already set would be LSU(May 31), Georgia (June 7), Miami (June 14), and Oregon (June 21). Pickett plans to announce his college decision on Oct. 6. His cousin, Booker Pickett, Jr., is enrolling at UM this summer.

Ben Hanks, Jr. 6-1 170 Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington #58

Official visits to Louisville (May 31), Florida (June 7), Georgia (June 14), and Miami (June 21) give an idea of which programs Hanks holds in high regard. Many of the Miami Public League's best were spurning The U prior to Cristobal and his staff arriving in Coral Gables.

Here's another chance to turn the tide towards the Orange and Green. It shall not be easy, as his father is a former Gator, and beating UGA for recruits is rarely easy.

Chris Ewald 6-0 165 Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna #30

Watching Ewald perform at this past Sunday's Miami Under Armour Camp, it's not surprising he's being coveted by the nation's elite. UM has him on campus for an unofficial visit this week. LSU and Auburn will host him soon as well.

UGA could once again be a factor as Ewald plans to take an official visit there. This is going to be a tight recruiting race.

Mark Manfred 6-3 170 Atlanta (Ga.) Sprayberry #Unranked

He's not been at the usual events many recruiting analysts go and that would explain the lack of a ranking. But, Manfred's offer list is elite and that's far more important. Clemson, Miami, Auburn, Kentucky, North Carolina, and many others are giving chase.

During many other years, this young man would be the tallest cornerback recruit.  Aside from Pickett, Manfred might be the tallest this year. He's more technically advanced than many of his peers and possesses the long frame that a college strength coach like UM's Aaron Field, one of the best in his line of work.

Adonyss Currie 6-2 165 Lancaster (Calif.) Quartz Hill #219

Currie is going to take official visits to Texas A&M (April 13), Nebraska (April 27), Washington (June 1), Miami (June 8), and Utah (June 15). That's a widespread list for one of the West Coast's top prospects.

Of all the UM cornerback targets, Currie is the one with the least amount of information regarding the Canes.
