Stud Running Back With Elite Name Puts Michigan In Top Group

New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford has wasted no time on the recruiting trail.

New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford arrived in Ann Arbor as an elite recruiter and he's already putting his skills on display. Within just a couple of weeks of being on the job, Alford has been able to host several blue chip ball carriers including Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela St. Joseph running back Bo Jackson. The 6-1, 190-pounder was on campus in late-March and posed for pictures with both Alford and Sherrone Moore in the new head coach's office. Now, Jackson has the Wolverines in his top group.

As you can see, Jackson still has a large group of suitors consisting of 12 big time programs. The Wolverines are now in the mix against Rutgers, Ohio State, Oregon, Georgia, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky and Penn State. Obviously from that group, Ohio State is a real threat to land Jackson as the home-state powerhouse. The big back has also seen Penn State, Georgia and Kentucky in person along with a couple of others.
