Michigan football: Four-star decommits from SEC school before visiting Ann Arbor

Michigan might be struggling on the gridiron in 2024, but the Wolverines are remaining in the race for several elite prospects. Most noteably, five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola who Michigan is trending to land in the 2025 cycle.

A name that Michigan fans might want to take notice of is four-star Joseph Mbatchou. The 2025 defensive lineman has been a Florida commit since late July, but there have been several teams who have offered him in recent weeks -- one being Michigan.

Mbatchou scedulded an offical visit for Michigan and will be attending this weekend when the Wolverines host Michigan State. On Monday, Mbatchou decommitted from the Gators, right before his visit for Michigan.

But Michigan will have challengers to land the talented lineman. Mbatchou is also going to visit Auburn (Nov. 2), Florida (Nov. 16), Tennessee (Nov. 23) and South Carolina (Nov. 30) before making his decision. The Loganville (GA) Grayson product is a Composite four-star. He is ranked as the 425th-best prospect in the 2025 cycle.
