Mark Dantonio Lands 16th Committment for 2010 Class. Welcome RB LeVeon Bell from Ohio!

Mark Dantonio understands that they way to fix on field performance is with recruiting. He brought in an Ohio RB by the name of LeVeon Bell this weekend and on Monday he committed to the Spartans.

Bell held a myriad of offers, most notably from MAC schools, but this strong north south runner brings high intensity to MSU. At 6’2” and 218 pounds, Bell has good hands and is a very good receiver. Based on the MSU offense, and his size, he could play FB. He isn’t the fastest player (4.5-4.6 40 yard dash) so that would lend to that FB/RB debate.

He comes to MSU from Groveport Madison High School. He has always wanted to play in the Big Ten and he will finally get to live that dream. He is on the honor roll and takes his academics seriously. There is a possibility that Bell could enroll in January. He reminds a lot of people of Jehuu Caulcrick, but more athletic.

Setting Bell apart is that he is so physically strong. Again that leads some to think FB with him. His max bench is over 325 pounds and can do over 20 reps at 185. The Spartans got a diamond in the rough in Bell, but based on this staff’s track record of successfully developing talent, he could he a very good addition.

With Bell’s commitment, the Spartans have a total of sixteen for the 2010 football recruiting class.  The Spartans could go as high as 24 for the class if the right caliber of player wants to commit, but 22 seems to be the magic number at this point.

Here are the other 15 members of the 2010 class that Bell will join at MSU.
