Mark Dantonio Lands 17th Commitment for 2010 Class: Athlete Jeremy Langford

If the Spartan Nation likes what it has seen from Keshawn Martin this season, they sure will be happy with the Mark Dantonio's latest commitment RB Jeremy Langford. Here is a link to a story that Spartan Nation did back in November LINK when Langford started to really come on the scene.
Timed according to his AD Brian Swinehart with sub 4.4 speed (4.38) the 6'1" 190# speedster simply gives MSU more speed. You can see with Keshawn Martin (KMART) that speed is a great equalizer and MSU needs more to attain the nation success they want.
"He is very close to his family and the thought of playing in front of them made it easy. They are a strong family of faith and the path for them was to play for a man of faith in Coach Dantonio. Watching the game last night and how the Spartans opened the offense and used Keshawn really showed them what he could do in this offense," was Swinehart's analysis of Langford’s choice when we spoke tonight.
Langford has a strong commitment to football and his education is even more critical to him, but for this star athlete other things are even more important and it was that factor that got his attention he told me this evening, "From the moment I met with him (Coach Dantonio), he talked about his faith. It wasn't something that he just said, I am a person of faith. That meant a lot to me that he didn't know how I was, but he wanted us to know how he was."Â
Jeremy's father Jeffrey seconded his son's sentiments. "In our family Jesus is our Lord and savior. In recruiting people can say they are Christians and that they are interested in that, but it is who he is. It is what he is about.  A lot of people say they are about that stuff, but he took time to get to know us and we learned that he knows the Lord. I really appreciated how he got to know us as a family and made sure that we knew him."Â
Jeremy was impressed with how Coach Dantonio handled the Rather Hall issue also when he told me "I was impressed with how he just didn't kick everyone out. He looked at each person and each situation. He really cares about people."
It was apparent in the loss to Texas Tech that if the Spartans want to compete nationally they had to add speed and skill and they certainly did with Langford who is a great kid and athlete.
The Spartans will simply add yet another great weapon to this class, while once again adding character. Langford is another great get from a school in John Glenn that seems to manufacture them.Â
