Recruits Still on the Radar for the Spartan 2010 Class - Offense:

The coaches have hit the road and have already begun their quest to land another great recruiting class, with the class of 2011. This has left many of you wondering, who will be the final pieces to the class of 2010. Today we will examine the prospects that could potentially fill those few remaining spots. On Friday we will look at the defensive side of the ball.

Starting on offense.

After a very good coaching job in 2009, the Spartan's must now find OC Don Treadwell some new weapon's for his offense.

After some unexpected events, the running back position is now in need of some added depth. MSU is currently pursuing two young men to fill this void, James White out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Jeremy Langford out of Westland, Michigan. Last week, I would have told you that there was no way MSU would take both of these backs, however, now that is a likely possibility.

James White’s 40 time has been clocked in the 4.3’s. He is an explosive player with speed that has not been seen around East Lansing, since the days of DeAndra Cobb. White’s speed would allow him to be used in special situations, such as being the 2nd kick returner, and being the option back in the Wildcat. White is a well-rounded back with good hands and the ability to make guys miss. As with many young backs to see his playing time increase, he will need to work on his pass protection.

Jeremy Langford is another playmaker, however, his 40 time is slightly higher than White’s, and clocks in consistently in the 4.4’s. When comparing Langford to White, Langford would get the edge in pass protection. Langford will need a good year with Coach Mannie to develop his body to be able to take the beating of running between the tackles in the Big Ten.

Torian Richardson is a Wide Receiver from Duncan, South Carolina. He is a bit undersized at 5’11 and 174 pounds, and has a high 40 time (4.67). However, he has great leaping ability with a vertical jump of 36 inches. He is a player like Blair White; he is a very smooth route runner and finds a way to get open. He is a very reliable pass catcher with great hands. If he were to come to MSU, he would need to work on his run blocking to see any playing time.

Sherard Cadogan is a Tight End out of Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He has been documented multiple times on Spartan Nation. With his versatility, he could definitely see early playing time at TE, DE, or LB, depending on the situation he is put in.

Eric Franklin is an Offensive Tackle from Youngstown, Ohio. He has great size at 6’7 and 310 pounds. He is very athletic for his size. He has the quickness, leg strength, and explosiveness that will allow him to be very successful in the MSU offensive blocking scheme, however, he could get stronger and a year under coach Mannie will benefit him tremendously.
