Mississippi State offensive tackle Charles Cross was the only Bulldog to make the Southeastern Conference Media All-SEC team ahead of the 2021 season, despite the fact the Bulldogs had multiple All-Americans last year who will take the field in Davis Wade once more this year.

Cross was listed under the third-team designation.

Cross, currently projected to be a first-rounder in the 2022 NFL Draft, played 720 offensive snaps last year, according to Pro Football Focus. This was the most snaps in the SEC among freshman offensive linemen. The second-most was a far cry from that, with a total of 90 less snaps.

It's interesting to see Cross as the only Bulldog representative on the list, considering that players like defensive back Emmanuel Forbes made the True Freshman All-America team at the conclusion of the 2020 season. Also on defense, cover corner Martin Emerson Jr. received All-America honors as a sophomore at the end of the year.

Wide receiver Jaden Walley, also a freshman last year, earned postseason honors. This marked the first time in program history that multiple MSU freshmen have earned Freshman All-American honors in the same season.

Here's a complete look at the results from this year's SEC media poll:
