Eli Drinkwitz:
SEC Network:
- On the state of college athletics: "If we continue to alienate the fans, we're not going to continue to be able to pay the players. We're not going to be able to continue to have this great product."
- On the quarterback competition: “It would be easier for me and for all of our team if we could stand up and tell you who the starting quarterback was. We’re not trying to hide behind it. There’s no competitive advantage.”
Main Media Stage:
- Drinkwitz on what's changed over his career: "In the first couple of years, I really cared what y'all (the media, fans) thought about me. Now I really don't."
- Drinkwitz weighs in on the debates for the College Football Playoff format and amount of SEC games — says he's in favor of moving to nine conference games to boost the conference's chances at CFP bids. Says for the CFP, he'd be in favor for more play-in games.
- On reigniting the rivalry against Kansas; "I think rivalries are a great thing for college football, especially regional rivalries like this. This one goees back a long ways."
- Says quarterback Sam Horn "has been adamant this whole time" that he would play football this fall, even after being selected in the MLB draft.
Daylan Carnell:
Everything Missouri Defensive Back Daylan Carnell Said at SEC Media Days
- "Coach Drink is a real player's coach. He has very good connections with his players. He builds relationships, and it's very easy to talk to Coach Drink about anything, not just football. He makes sure as you go off the field as well."
- "We want to make the College Football Playoff. We want to make the SEC Championship game. We want to compete for championships, as many as we can. And for myself, I just want to leave it all out on the field. I want to have my best year I have."
Connor Tollison:
Everything Missouri Center Connor Tollison Said at SEC Media Days
- On the Missouri defense: "Fast and physical. Every day they bring it. They ain't got no off days. I wasn't there in the spring, recovering from injury. But I know when I get there in fall camp, it's going to be there and it's going to be fast"
- "They say the game slows down. I think there's some truth to that. As I've been playing more, I feel the game slowly came to a speed that I can see things, make the right calls."
Zion Young:
Everything Missouri Edge Rusher Zion Young Said at SEC Media Days
- "I feel great about what we accomplished. I feel like there's more to come. I feel like another double-digit season is on the way. I feel good, man."
- On the defense: "A gritty unit. The depth is unreal. Like you said, we're really establishing a death row defense. I know you've all seen a lot of that last year and the year before that. But the best is yet to come and it's on its way."
