In a week that saw 15 ranked teams lose, Notre Dame women’s basketball continues to be ranked No. 10 in this week’s Associated Press basketball poll. The Fighting Irish (24-4, 15-3 ACC) won twice last week, including Sunday’s 68-65 regular season finale win at Louisville, to clinch the ACC regular season championship.

South Carolina (29-0) remains No. 1 in the AP poll for the 36th consecutive week to match Louisiana Tech for the second longest run at the top of the poll. Indiana (26-2) lost to Iowa on Sunday, but remains No. 2 this week. Utah (25-3) is up five spots to No. 5 after upsetting former No. 3 Stanford to share the Pac-12 regular-season crown with the Cardinal (27-4), which falls three spots to No. 6.

LSU (27-1) is No. 4 and Maryland (24-5) is No. 5. Despite its win over Indiana, Iowa (23-6) falls to No. 7 after a lopsided loss to Maryland earlier in the week. Virginia Tech (24-4) is up one spot to No. 8. UConn (25-5) falls five spots to No. 9 after losing to St. John’s last week.

Just two other ACC teams appear in this week’s rankings. Duke (24-5) falls two spots to No. 13 after losing to North Carolina on Sunday, while the win over the Blue Devils bumps the Tar Heels up five spots to No. 18. Florida State (23-8) fell from the poll after Sunday’s loss to Clemson.

Notre Dame has won six straight games heading into this week’s ACC Tournament in Greensboro, NC. The four losses by the Irish this season are to No. 5 Maryland, No. 13 Duke, No. 18 North Carolina, and NC State (which was ranked No. 20 at the time).
