New Notre Dame men’s basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry has completed his first coaching staff. Shrewsberry announced Ryan Owens as the final member of his staff on Friday.

“Ryan is an Indiana guy and understands what basketball means in this state,” Shrewsberry said of Owens in a release. “His relationships with High School and AAU coaches throughout the country will make him a valuable asset to our team.”

Owens’ previous college coaching experience was as an assistant at DePauw University from 2002-2005. He and Shrewsberry were on longtime DePauw head coach Bill Fenlon’s staff together in 2002 and 2003 before Shrewsberry left and became head coach at IU-South Bend. DePauw is located in Greencastle, Ind, which is located west of Indianapolis. Owens has spent the last several years coaching AAU basketball in Indianapolis.

“He is a relationship builder who brings passion and energy on a daily basis,” Shrewsberry continued. “His experiences as a player, coach, and business owner will be really helpful as he helps mentor our student-athletes during their Notre Dame journey.”

Owens is the third and final assistant coach on Shrewsberry’s staff. Kyle Getter was previously named Associate Head Coach after working for the last five years at Virginia. He spent the last three seasons as the program’s director of recruiting/player development. The last two were also as an assistant coach.

Mike Farrelly was also previously named an assistant coach. Farrelly followed Shrewsberry to Notre Dame after working for him for the last two seasons at Penn State.

Tre Whitted also worked for Shrewsberry the past two years as the Assistant to the Head Coach. He holds that same position at Notre Dame. Whitted has also worked as a G-League assistant coach.

Grady Eifert was Penn State’s video coordinator for the past two years. He will work as Shrewsberry’s Development & Recruiting Coordinator. The Ft. Wayne native played basketball at Purdue and is the brother of former Fighting Irish tight end Tyler Eifert as well as current Irish walk-on wide receiver Griffin Eifert.

Brian Snow also worked for Shrewsberry at Penn State and will be Notre Dame’s Director of Recruiting, which is a newly added position at Notre Dame. Prior to Penn State, Snow spent four years as a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports and CBSSports.com. In his role, he evaluated high school prospects on film and in person to assist in the creation of 247Sports’ national prospect rankings.

Pat Rogers is the only member of the staff who also worked for Mike Brey. Rogers returns as the Director of Basketball Operations. He was also a student manager for Brey’s Fighting Irish in 2010 before graduating from Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business.
