Notre Dame Women's Basketball Holds At No. 10 In Coaches Poll

The Notre Dame women’s basketball team checks in at No. 10 in this week’s USA Today Coaches Poll. The Fighting Irish (20-4, 11-3 ACC) hold at No. 10 for a second straight week after picking up a pair of wins last week.

Defending national champion South Carolina (25-0) continues to hold the top spot in the rankings after a pair of wins last week, including Sunday’s 88-64 win over formerly unbeaten LSU (23-1).

The Tigers drop two spots to No. 4 after the loss to the Gamecocks. Indiana (24-1) remains No. 2 for the second straight week, while Stanford (24-3) bumps up two spots to No. 3. Utah (23-2) is also up two spots at No. 5.

UConn (22-4), Iowa (20-5), Maryland (21-5), and Virginia Tech (20-4) fill out the respective 6-9 spots in the poll.

South Carolina again received the maximum 800 points, including all 32 first place votes, this week. Indiana received 764 points, Stanford has 712, LSU 708, and Utah received 660. Notre Dame has 513.

There are three other ACC teams in this week’s coaches poll top 25. Current ACC Duke (22-3) is No. 11, North Carolina (18-7) is No. 17 and NC State (17-8) is No. 24.

Florida State is in the AP top 25, but not in the coaches poll, while NC State is in the coaches poll, but fell out of this week’s AP rankings.

All four of Notre Dame’s losses this season are to ranked teams (Maryland, North Carolina, NC State, and Duke). They also have wins over No. 6 UConn and No. 9 Virginia tech.

The Fighting Irish host Louisville this Thursday night and travel to Pittsburgh on Sunday.
