Notre Dame Women's Basketball Remains No. 10 In Weekly AP Poll

Notre Dame women’s basketball remains No. 10 in this week’s Associated Press basketball poll. The Fighting Irish (20-4, 11-3 ACC) hold at No. 10 for a second straight week after close wins over unranked Pittsburgh and Syracuse last week.

The top two spots in the poll are unchanged, with South Carolina (25-0) remaining No. 1 for the 34th consecutive week and Indiana (23-1) at No. 2 for the second week in a row.

The Gamecocks handed LSU (23-1) its first loss of the season on Sunday to drop the Tigers down two spots to No. 5. Stanford (24-3) is up three spots to No. 3 and Utah (22-2) also up three spots to No. 4.

UConn (22-4) suffered back-to-back losses last week for the first time in 30 years and falls two spots to No. 6. Iowa (20-5) is also down two spots to No. 7, while Maryland (21-5) and Duke (22-3) remain at No. 8 and 9, respectively.

Other ACC teams in the poll this week are No. 11 Virginia Tech (20-4), No. 19 North Carolina (18-7), which falls five spots after a Sunday loss to Virginia, and No. 24 Florida State (20-7), which also falls five spots after losing to Miami last week. NC State (17-8) falls out of the poll this week after losing three of its last four games.

Notre Dame’s four losses this season are to No. 8 Maryland, No. 9 Duke, No. 14 North Carolina, and No. 22 NC State. The Irish have wins over No. 4 UConn, No. 11 Virginia Tech and No. 19 Florida State.
