Eight Notre Dame Players Are Invited To The NFL Scouting Combine

In this story:
The NFL has sent out official invitations for the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine and eight former Notre Dame players have earned a bid to this year's event. It is Notre Dame's biggest group since the 2021 NFL Draft class.
Notre Dame had two different position groups with multiple players invited. As expected, elite offensive tackle Joe Alt was invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, but fellow Irish tackle Blake Fisher also got an invite. Both Alt and Fisher left Notre Dame after their third seasons on campus.
Alt is challenging to be the first offensive tackle in the upcoming draft, with the former Irish star having a chance to be a top 5-10 pick in this year's draft. Fisher is hoping a strong pre-draft period can vault him into day two of the draft (rounds 2-3).
Notre Dame also had two linebackers invited to the combine, with both JD Bertrand and Marist Liufau earning a chance to show off their athleticism at the combine. Bertrand led Notre Dame in tackles in each of the last three seasons as the Georgia native racked up 260 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks in his three years in the starting lineup. Liufau racked up 95 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks the last two seasons.
Running back Audric Estime is another expected invite among former Notre Dame players, and his official invite was announced today as well. Estime is competing to become one of the top backs in this draft class. A brilliant junior season helped, and now Estime is looking to turn in a strong offseason as well.
Estime rushed for 1,341 yards in 2023 and ranked 8th in college football in yards per game (111.8). That was the 5th best single season rushing yards total in Notre Dame history, and Estime's 18 rushing touchdowns set a program record.
Cornerback Cam Hart is another former Irish standout that received a NFL Scouting Combine invitation. Hart had an outstanding final season at Notre Dame, and he'll look to put his athleticism on display at the combine. Hart finished his final season with 21 tackles, three tackles for loss, four break ups and he didn't allow a single touchdown all season.
Defensive end Javontae Jean-Baptiste was a pleasant surprise for Notre Dame this season, racking up 49 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and five sacks after coming over from Ohio State. Jean-Baptiste is another former Irish player to get an invitation.
The final member of the Notre Dame squad to receive an invite is quarterback Sam Hartman. Hartman passed for 2,689 yards and accounted for 27 touchdowns in one season with the Irish.
Bertrand, Liufau, Hart, Jean-Baptiste and Hartman also all participated in the Reese's Senior Bowl.
