Isaiah Foskey, Jarrett Patterson Hope To Boost Their Draft Stack At The Senior Bowl

Former Notre Dame stars Isaiah Foskey and Jarrett Patterson both have a chance to boost their NFL Draft stock at the Senior Bowl

Former Notre Dame stars have a strong recent history of boosting their draft stock after outstanding performances at the Senior Bowl, and former Irish stars Isaiah Foskey and Jarrett Patterson are looking to do that again in 2023.

ISAIAH FOSKEY, DEFENSIVE END

It shouldn't be much of a surprise that Foskey won the weigh-in portion of the week. At 6’4 7/8" and 262 pounds, he boasts the type of length (33 3/4”) arms that will get all the scouts excited. He also was selected by Jim Nagy, the Director of the Senior Bowl, as one of the main two players available for the media along with TCU quarterback Max Duggan. Foskey has a chance to wow evaluators with his physical talent and personality this week.

NFL scouts in attendance want to see more nuance to Foskey’s game this week. He is a physicality impressive kid who brings a lot of power to the table, the problem for the talented defensive end is that he never developed from a rush plan perspective while at Notre Dame. There is still massive upside to Foskey and the scouts in attendance want to see maturation this week. If he can, the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft is not out of question come April.

JARRETT PATTERSON, OFFENSIVE LINE

There was also no surprise during former Notre Dame offensive lineman Jarrett Pattersons’ weigh-in result. At 6’4 7/8” and 304 pounds, Patterson is a sleek center with an incredibly clean frame. His ability to play guard in a pinch will be a big bonus to his baseline as an NFL player. Not surprisingly, Patterson did come in with a shorter arm length (31 5/8”) and wingspan (77 5/8”) that will more than likely limit him to a center on the next level.

Patterson has a chance to rekindle some of the draft hype that has been lost over the last couple of seasons, mostly due to some durability injuries and some inconsistencies. He will need to show off his outstanding foot quickness this way and prove that he has the power profile to hold up against more talented interior rushers. If he can show consistency, Patterson could work his way up to a late day two opportunity in April.
