Linebacker Teddy Rezac Commits To Notre Dame

Notre Dame has picked up a commitment from 2024 Nebraska linebacker Teddy Rezac

Notre Dame has finally gotten on the board at linebacker in the 2024 class by landing a commitment from Omaha (Neb.) Westside standout Teddy Rezac

The 6-4, 195-pound Rezac went from an unknown prospect to most Notre Dame fans to an Irish commit in a short period of time. Notre Dame had multiple coaches at his high school recently, including defensive coordinator Al Golden, and quickly followed up with a scholarship offer. The very next day, Rezac was on campus at Notre Dame for an unofficial visit.

"There was just a lot of excitement,” Rezac told Irish Breakdown after receiving his offer. "Notre Dame has been kind of a dream school for me, so when I heard I had a scholarship the feeling was surreal.”

Less than a week following that visit, Rezac decided he was ready to get his recruitment over with despite getting offers from in-state Nebraska and Missouri of the SEC.

Notre Dame is enamored with Rezac's speed, which is listed anywhere from 4.48 to 4.52. His length is also something you immediately see when you look at his film, and the Irish coaches see him as a second level defender capable of playing in space, but the staff also likes his flexibility as a player.

"They see me as the Rover, and then potentially moving to the middle when I grow into my frame,” Rezac told Irish Breakdown following his visit. "I think that would be a really good fit for me. I think my versatility could be a big help to the team.”

After his visit to Notre Dame, Rezac quickly got an offer from the Cornhuskers, but by that time his decision had been made.

Landing Rezac gives Notre Dame its first linebacker commit of the 2024 class. He is the seventh defensive player to commit to the Fighting Irish in this cycle.

The Westside star makes plays on both sides of the ball. As a junior he racked up 62 tackles, four tackles for loss and picked off two passes. On the offensive side of the ball, Rezac hauled in 32 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns. His quarterback is his twin brother, Anthony.

Rezac has earned scholarship offers from the the Fighting Irish, Nebraska, Missouri and Boston College. An outstanding student, Rezac also earned an offer from Dartmouth, an Ivy League program.
