2024 Safety Target Davis Andrews Has High Expectations For Visit To Notre Dame

It isn’t often that Notre Dame frequents the state of Utah for top talent but 2024 American Fork (Utah) High School star safety Davis Andrews has quickly risen near the top of the safety board for the Irish. After being offered late in January, Andrews quickly set up a return trip to South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game.

Notre Dame has now become one of the top contenders for Andrews heading into the visit. The program has the chance to really set themselves apart for the Utah star. From football, academics, coaches and everything in between, the Irish staff wants to show Andrews they have a lot to offer.

“My expectations are really high because obviously the level of football and academics and also the tradition of Notre Dame football,” Andrews told Irish Breakdown. “I’m looking forward to being on campus and meeting with the coaches again.

“They have been great since they’ve offered me and started off well and have been one of the more consistent programs talking to me,” continued Andrews. “I think that the coaches and atmosphere feel like somewhere I could be. They seem very genuine and coaches I would want to play under.”

Andrews has seen a significant rise in his recruitment over the last couple of months. He has been busy visiting a many schools, as well as continuing to reel in several impressive offers. That attention, while exciting, can also be overwhelming at times.

The star defensive back has done a great job to maintain his composure while doing his homework on these schools. That has included a lot of trips for the Andrews family.

“It's a lot of fun and has been a little crazy,” he said. “I visited Tennessee last weekend but in the spring I have visited Stanford, UCLA, Utah and BYU, and Notre Dame wraps up my spring schedule

“I anticipate sending out my top six schools in a couple weeks and then go to my official visits hopefully before my senior season then decide,” Andrews added. “If I'm not ready I have no problem pushing it back a little.”

Even if that timeline remains the same, this is Notre Dame’s big chance to really move the needle with Andrews. It could even help to land an official visit from the Utah native this summer. It all starts this weekend.

The offer list is starting to expand quickly with so much recruiting attention coming his way. Some of the notable programs who have offers so far include the Irish, Tennessee, UCLA, Utah, Stanford, Arizona, Colorado, Washington State, Cal and BYU among others.

The 6-2, 190-pound athlete was a playmaker on the back end of the defense for American Fork. In twelve games, he recorded 45 total tackles, intercepted four passes, had three forced fumbles and recovered another.
