Talented 2024 Pass Rusher Cameron Clark Recaps Impressive Visit To Notre Dame

In this story:
Things are about to get incredibly busy for the Notre Dame football staff over the next couple of months with a flurry of talented 2024 and 2025 recruits scheduling visits to campus. Over the weekend, 2024 Medina (Tenn.) South Gibson pass rusher Cameron Clark made his first trip to South Bend.
Initial trips to Notre Dame can be eye opening experiences for recruits. For Clark, who is still relatively new to the Irish recruiting board, saying this trip moved the needle would be a massive understatement.
There were several key moments for Clark and his family. By all accounts, the coaches really knocked this visit out of the park.
“My biggest takeaway from the visit was the family environment and the people I met, from the coaching staff to the players,” Clark said. “They were great people.
“My favorite moment was being able to view the most beautiful campus in the country and soak in all the knowledge which helps you get a better understanding on how much it means to put on that Notre Dame jersey,” Clark continued.
The Irish staff really made Clark feel at home in South Bend. It was a three-coach collaboration over the past weekend. Those three coaches really left a great first impression on the Tennessee standout.
“I was with Coach (Al) Washington, Coach (Al) Golden and (Matt) Balis most of the time,” he said. “What was great about my time with them was I could really tell they all had the same goals and were all on the same page and wanted the best for the players on and off the field.
“After the visit I could definitely see myself playing under Coach Washington and Golden after they showed me everything I needed to see on how they could take me to the next level!” Clark continued. “They see me as their Vyper spot on defense, which is the same position I already play in high school that I’m most confident at.”
Clark has been adamant in the past that he would like to make his commitment before his senior season begins. That gives the staff plenty of time to continue the momentum with Clark. Things are off to a great start after this recent visit.
As a junior, Clark was a big time performer on both sides of the football for South Gibson. On defense, the 6-3, 230-pound defender played both linebacker and defensive end this past season. He recorded 80 total tackles and eight sacks on the season.
Clark was also a big weapon as a tight end on the offensive side of the ball. On top of the three touchdowns receptions, he was a constant big play waiting to happen.
The Tennessee native has been adding more and more impressive offers to his list. Some of the top programs who have extended offers include the Irish, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Louisville, Duke and Vanderbilt among others.
