Defensive Lineman TJ Lindsey Excited To See The Notre Dame Game Day Environment

In this story:
Defensive line recruiting in the 2024 class has a chance to find some clarity during the Blue-Gold Game this weekend. The Notre Dame staff is set to host a bevy of talented recruits that day, including Bryant (Ark.) High School defensive lineman TJ Lindsey for a return visit to campus.
Lindsey shouldn’t be a new name to Irish fans who follow recruiting. He has been a recruit that has been high on Notre Dame so far, including having already visited in the past. This upcoming trip does offer a new and unique opportunity for the Arkansas star.
“I want to see what a sort of game day environment is like in South Bend, what a day in the life of a player is, and seeing how Coach (Al) Golden and Coach (Al) Washington coach in person. Seeing that atmosphere is going to be exciting,” Lindsey explained.
He also has a chance to sit down with each one of the coaches. Those bonds have continued to grow exponentially over the last several months.
“My relationships with everybody from Coach (Marcus) Freeman down have been amazing,” Lindsey said. “They just get better with time and I definitely see it as a potential landing place for me in the end.”
The competition for Lindsey is going to be fierce. He has been a busy man on the visit trail recently and that isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
“Recruiting has been amazing for me,” he said. “I’ve been to Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU. Soon I am going to visit Notre Dame, Oregon, Miami, Auburn and Georgia as well.”
There has been a priority for Notre Dame to add more size up front this recruiting cycle. Lindsey could be another key cog to accomplish that goal along with guys like commit Owen Wafle.
The majority of recruiting rankings may not tell it yet but Lindsey is one of the top defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class. Notre Dame seems well aware of that fact. Rivals currently have him pegged as a four-star recruit and the No. 27 defensive lineman in the class.
The recruiting rankings do not qualify just how talented of a player Lindsey is. The 6-4, 280-pound defensive lineman is a versatile pass rusher who could potentially assume many roles for the Irish, whether as a big end, three technique or even nose.
For the Bryant Hornets, who have won five straight state championships, Lindsey is a dominant fixture on the defensive line, seeing reps all over the front for the team.
Lindsey’s offer list is also beginning to expand with some impressive programs beginning to pull the trigger seemingly everyday. Aside from the Irish, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, Ole Miss, Missouri, Texas Tech and Colorado are a few of the notable offers thus far.
