Notre Dame Commit Bodie Kahoun Welcomes Irish Coaches Into His Home On Tuesday
You would be hard pressed to find a bigger senior riser than 2024 Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry linebacker Bodie Kahoun. The Notre Dame commit put together an absolutely outrageous stat line. In 11 games as a senior, Kahoun has recorded 203 total tackles (127 solo), 27 tackles for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Kahoun is now set to sign with the Irish later this month. On Tuesday, the Notre Dame staff traveled down to Roanoke for an in-home visit with the Kahoun family, including Marcus Freeman, Al Golden, Gerad Parker, Joe Rudolph and Chris O’Leary.
The 6-3, 220-pound linebacker is beyond excited to soon to officially be a part of the Notre Dame program. That visit continued to increase that feeling, really capping off a great recruitment.
"It was such a great visit,” Kahoun said. "We all got the chance to sit down for a big breakfast and had a good conversation around the table for a couple of hours. We were all just like family.”
This was also big for Kahoun’s family. They are soon going to send off Bodie to South Bend, beginning his potentially stellar career with the Irish. The family opened their home to the Irish coaches and really showed them good ol’ Southern hospitality.
"(My family) had a great time visiting with the coaches,” said Kahoun. "My Mom and Grammy went all in on the food. We had a southern breakfast casserole, candied bacon and some fruit.”
There were plenty of laughs, great conversations and good food on Tuesday. Now Kahoun has his eyes set forward toward National Signing Day, and making an impact with the Irish. He has set some very large goals early on in his career.
"I realize that it’s a process at this next level but I am also very confident in my skill set and how it has developed,” he said. "The game really slowed down for me this year leading our defense. My plan is to make an immediate impact.”
