Commitment Preview: Offensive Tackle Owen Strebig Ready To Announce

Previewing the commitment of standout 2025 offensive tackle Owen Strebig

The 2025 Notre Dame recruiting class is off to a tremendous start, currently sitting with 13 commitments and the No. 1 overall class according to Rivals and 247Sports. The program are hoping to add to that later today when Waukesha (Wis.) Catholic Memorial offensive tackle Owen Strebig makes a public commitment.

The 6-8, 290-pound offensive lineman will be picking between finalists Notre Dame, USC, Wisconsin, Miami and Florida State. Strebig will be making his decision at 5 PM ET.

Here is the latest with each school heading into the decision.

NOTRE DAME FIGHTING IRISH

It’s no secret that Notre Dame has been the favorite for Strebig for some time now. He has been on campus six times, has a great relationship with Joe Rudolph, Marcus Freeman and several of the recruits in the class. Strebig has really gravitated toward the tradition that the program offers, both from an overall tradition and history of producing top notch offensive lineman. Elite quarterback Deuce Knight has also pushed hard to get Strebig in the class with him.

WISCONSIN BADGERS

Strebig has been to Wisconsin more times than you could count. They are the school who has been on him the longest, having started recruiting him when he was a freshman. Staying in the state for a team he has known his entire life is an intriguing proposition for Strebig. The Badgers are certainly a viable option and have done a tremendous job to keep his interest throughout the process.

MIAMI HURRICANES

Miami is another school who did a really nice job with Strebig. He has been down to visit campus on two occasions, including within the last two weeks. Strebig also has good relationships with both Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and offensive line coach Alex Mirabal. Both coaches are well renowned offensive line coaches and have attracted some big time offensive linemen in their short time on campus.

USC TROJANS

The Trojans have grabbed the attention of Strebig, he visited the program during the season for their game against UCLA. He has a good relationship with the USC staff and has always spoken highly of them as a program. They have done a surprisingly good job with Strebig, who has complimented the offensive prowess of Lincoln Riley as well. Strebig made two different trips out to Los Angeles to visit the Trojans, including its regular season-ending matchup against UCLA.

FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES

The Seminoles have been on a great trajectory, improving every season under head coach Mike Norvell. Their program is getting back to its former lure, and are attracting more and more big time talents in effect. The Florida State offensive coordinator, Alex Atkins, also doubles as the team’s offensive line coach which doesn’t hurt their pitch. Strebig’s last visit to Tallahassee was before this past season. The Seminoles are the only school that Strebig didn't visit more than once.
