Notre Dame Commits Shine On The Biggest Stages

In this story:
There were several Notre Dame players who came into this week with championship hopes fully intact. That includes 2024 linebacker commit Teddy Rezac, who helped his talented Omaha (Neb.) Westside squad to their second straight state championship with a 56-0 win over Elkhorn South on Tuesday night. Rezac was named the player of the game, recording 13 total tackles and two pass breakups.
On Friday, there were seven other Irish commits who were in action. Here are how each one of them fared.
RB JUSTIN THURMAN (2025), TAMPA BAY (Fla.) JESUIT
RESULT: Gaither 31, Jesuit 24
The nine game winning streak for Tampa Jesuit ended on Friday, falling to Gaither 31-24. Thurman returned from injury, and did reach the end zone for the 17th time of the season. Jesuit held a 24-10 lead at one point during the game, which unfortunately wasn’t enough to hold up in the end.

RB DANIEL ANDERSON (2025), BRYANT (Ark.) HIGH SCHOOL
RESULT: Bentonville 52, Bryant 35
Anderson attempted a comeback late from a foot injury but was never able to regain his footing. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to contribute during the team’s 52-35 loss to Bentonbille, which ended an insane championship run for the Hornets. For the first time in six years, another team will reign supreme in Arkansas.
WR LOGAN SALDATE, SALINAS (Calif.) PALMA
RESULT: Palma 38, Alisal 20
Saldate once again found the endzone during the team’s 38-20 victory over Alisal. On the day, he hauled in three receptions for 65 yards and that touchdown. On the season, Saldate has 61 receptions for 1,169 yards and 15 scores.
OL ANTHONIE KNAPP, ROSWELL (Ga.) HIGH SCHOOL
RESULT: Marist 48, Roswell 21
The Roswell offense had signs of excellence, which was the case all year. On the day, they totaled 499 yards on offense. Their biggest issue was turnovers, including three interceptions. Knapp was phenomenal as a senior, with his next stop being to enroll at Notre Dame in January.
DE LOGHAN THOMAS, LAKEWOOD (Ohio) ST. EDWARD
RESULT: St. Edward 26, Hilliard Bradley 3
It was another dominant performance from a stellar St. Edward defense, allowing just 14 total yards after halftime. In total, Thomas and his squad have surrendered 10 points or less in a game nine times this season.
LB KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA, BELLFLOWER (Calif.) ST. JOHN BOSCO
RESULT: Mater Dei 35, St. John Bosco 7
In one of the nation’s premier rivalries, Mater Dei got their payback after losing to St. John Bosco 28-0 in the regular season. That concluded the high school career of All American linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa who is one of the premier defenders in the 2025 recruiting class. For the second straight year, Viliamu-Asa went over 100 tackles for the Braves. He also hauled in the only touchdown of the day on a highlight reel catch over star 2025 cornerback recruit Chuck McDonald.

CB KARSON HOBBS, CINCINNATI (Ohio) ARCHBISHOP MOELLER
RESULT: Springfield 26, Archbishop Moeller 19
Archbishop Moeller had been playing great football down the stretch, winning eight of the last nine games heading into this contest. Unfortunately they fell to Springfield in overtime, ending the fantastic career for Hobbs. He made his impact felt on the day, matching up with elite 2024 Ohio State cornerback commit Aaron Scott. Hobbs finished the day with two pass breakups and did not allow a single catch.
