Notre Dame Continues To Be A Top School For Elite Safety JaDon Blair

There may not be a more talented uncommitted safety on the board for Notre Dame than 2025 Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor star safety JaDon Blair. An elite talent on the backend, Blair is now turning his attention back to recruiting after finishing up his junior season.

It was a campaign to remember, becoming an even more dominant player than what we saw as a sophomore.

During that dominant junior campaign for Mount Tabor, Blair made a ton of plays from his safety position. Blair finished with 57 total tackles, three tackles for loss, four interceptions, one forced fumble and another fumble recovery.

The 6-4, 180-pound athlete was also utilized on the offensive side of the football for the Spartans. He hauled in 10 receptions for 255 yards and six touchdowns. That’s a stellar average of 25.5 yards per catch.

"I’m super happy with how I’ve grown from my sophomore year to my junior year,” Blair told Irish Breakdown. "I mean it’s in my film, the improvement from just that year. The stuff I wanted to improve on I feel like I did in a major way.”

With the attention turning to recruiting now, Blair has been busy catching up with the coaches. Developing those relationships has been one of his favorite parts of the process.

"Recruiting for me has been great recently,” explained Blair. "I have been building great relationships with coaches and overall just enjoying the experience while I can talk to all these coaches and have great conversations.”

Among his best relationships early on, Blair has really been bonding with Chris O’Leary. Their bond continues to get stronger and stronger by the day.

"My relationship with Coach O'Leary continues to grow almost everyday,” Blair stated. "He keeps in contact with me and we have great conversations over the phone just like how I have great conversations with Coach (Marcus) Freeman. They’re always making it known how bad they want me there and want me to be even better than Kyle Hamilton.”

Blair is not necessarily in decision making mode so schools will have to be patient, and continue to recruit him hard moving forward. Notre Dame is a school who has put themselves in a very good spot early. Their pitch has been heard clearly, and they should be in it until the very end.

"Notre Dame has always been a top school for me but they just keep continuing to rise and make me like them even more,” he explained. "I don’t have a list right now but Notre Dame would be on any list I was to possibly make right now. I love what they have to offer and what they bring to the table and it just keeps growing on me. Notre Dame stands real high with me right now.”
