Notre Dame Continuing To Value Elite 2025 Safety Jordan Young

In this story:
There is a legitimate argument that the most talented defender on the 2025 recruiting board for Notre Dame is Monroe (N.C.) High School safety Jordan Young. The dynamic defender first visited Notre Dame on March 25th, and the Irish made a good initial impression.
Young is being pursued by the nation's premier programs, but he's handling things well. Notre Dame continues to try and rise up his list of schools and become a standout.
"Recruiting has been going great,” he told Irish Breakdown. "It’s pretty busy but great. (The relationship with Notre Dame) is coming along. The coaching staff has been reaching out to me about coming to camp this summer. The visit earlier this year is all I can go by right now and it was good. They think I would be a good fit up there.”
Getting Young on campus so early was a major step in this recruitment. This is a process that doesn’t have a firm timeline. The next several months will be important for the North Carolina star who will be busy making his travels.
"To be honest they all have been doing a good job staying in touch with me,” he explained. "I’m blessed to be able to be recruited by so many great coaches. I have Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama visits and camps coming up.”
"It’s going to be a hectic summer.”
Young is considered a four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform currently. He ranks highest by On3, who has him pegged as the No. 15 overall player and No. 1 safety in the 2025 recruiting class. 247Sports also has Young rated as their top safety in the country.
The 6-0, 165-pound athlete is a two-way star for Monroe as both a safety and wide receiver. On the defensive side of the football, he is coming off of a dominant performance as a sophomore. He finished that campaign with 41 total tackles, eight interceptions and three pass breakups. Young returned those eight interceptions for 212 yards and scored a touchdown. The North Carolina standout also blocked two punts on the season.
On offense, Young was equally as impactful. He led the squad with 1,010 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on just 52 receptions. That is an average of 19.4 yards per reception, once again illustrating his big play potential.
