Top 2024 Linebacker Target Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa Is Visiting Notre Dame This Week

Notre Dame has recruited the linebacker position as well as any program in the country the last two years, but the start to the 2024 cycle has been a bit rocky. Notre Dame is trying to land top linebackers in the class, and arguably the best linebacker on the board will be on campus Friday, and that is Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa.

Viliamu-Asa is extremely well regarded from a recruiting ranking perspective. He is considered to be the No. 60 overall player and No. 3 linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class according to Rivals. 247Sports also sees the California standout similarly, ranking him as the No. 69 overall player and No. 6 linebacker in the class.

There is a bevy of impressive programs courting Viliamu-Asa right now. Some of his notable offers include the Fighting Irish, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Texas, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Auburn, UCLA, Washington, Boston College, Oregon State, Stanford, Washington State, Louisville, Arizona State, Arizona and Kansas among others.

After recovering from a leg injury that cost him his sophomore season, the 6-3, 230-pound defender came back with a vengeance as a junior. Viliamu-Asa collected 111 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks for the 13-1 St. John Bosco squad. He also recorded an interception, recovered a fumble and forced another on the season.

Viliamu-Asa is a clear priority for Notre Dame. He is a player they want and one that the staff is making a strong push for. This will be Viliamu-Asa's second visit to Notre Dame, with the last coming on the day of the 2022 Blue-Gold Game.
