Florida Defensive Lineman Brandon Brown Excited About "Special" Notre Dame Offer

On Thursday, the Notre Dame staff continued to search the country for more top level talent who could help the program on the next level. A series of offers were extended, including to 2025 Melbourne (Fla.) Eau Gallie defensive lineman Brandon Brown.

Already considered one of the more talented defensive lineman in the class, this offer from the Irish offered a unique opportunity. It’s not everyday a football player from Melbourne gets offered by Notre Dame.

“I was really excited,” Brown explained. “To have an offer from Notre Dame is a blessing. I don’t think anyone in this area has been offered by them so it’s special.”

With Notre Dame throwing their hat in the ring, they should expect to compete against some of the elite programs in all of college football for Brown. He has already begun forging great bonds with several of those staff members.

“Right now I’m close with Miami, Texas A&M, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Oregon, Cincinnati and UCF,” he said. “I’ve basically been hearing from most of the schools in the country.”

Just a sophomore in high school, there is no rush for Brown to make any decisions any time soon. He does, however, know what he’s looking for in a school. It will be interesting to see if Notre Dame fits that criteria.

“I just really want to feel at home,” Brown said. “I want to go to a program that has a family atmosphere. Those things are most important to me.”

Brown is considered as a four-star recruit on the On3 Industry ranking. He currently sits as the No. 164 overall player and the No. 18 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class. The talented defender is also ranked as the No. 26 player in the state of Florida, a state that Notre Dame has had mixed results in.

The Florida native is starting to pull in a series of impressive offers recently. Some of the premier programs who have offered include Notre Dame, Georgia, Miami, Florida, USC, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Maryland, Purdue, Colorado, Cincinnati, Michigan State, Louisville and Indiana among others.

The 6-2, 275-pound defensive lineman was an absolute game wrecker as a sophomore. He finished with 36 total tackles, six tackles for loss and two sacks. Brown also recorded six quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
