Georgia Cornerback Devin Williams Locks In First Trip To Notre Dame

In this story:
Notre Dame coaches are back on the road to check out the nation's top prospects, and position coach Mike Mickens was by Buford (Ga.) High School this past week, which is home to 2025 star cornerback Devin Williams. Mickens has made it clear to Williams and those at Buford that Williams is a player the Irish have very strong interest in getting on campus.
That visit will now happen in the very near future.
Williams informed Irish Breakdown that he has solidified his first trip to Notre Dame on June 22nd. The Georgia native is excited to see South Bend for the first time.
"(Coach Mickens) said that they want to get me to Notre Dame for a visit and to show me around the campus soon," Williams explained. "I’m excited to get up there on June 22nd.”
Williams is a player who is being courted by a long list of premier programs. He is pumped to make the rounds this spring and summer.
"It has been very busy,” he explained of his recruitment. "I’ve only visited five of the schools that have offered me so far. I want to get to most schools by July. I have Notre Dame, Michigan, and Auburn scheduled. I am also in the process of scheduling others.
"I don’t want to slight anyone so I'm anxious to get out there,” Williams continued. "I’m really excited to see Notre Dame.”
Williams is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. He ranks currently as the No. 60 overall player and No. 6 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class according to the On3 Industry ranking. That also has him pegged as the No. 11 player from the state of Georgia, a state that puts out a silly amount of talent each year.
The 5-10, 155-pound cornerback is being pursued by some of the top programs in all of college football. Some of his notable offers include Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida State, Penn State, Texas, Florida, Auburn, Texas A&M, Arkansas, NC State, Colorado, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Duke and Georgia Tech among others.
The Buford standout is also a standout track and field athlete for the school’s team. As a sophomore, he posted personal bests of 10.65 seconds in the 100 meter dash and 21.4 seconds in the 200. That speed and explosiveness translates over to the football field in a big way.
