Georgia Tight End Ryan Ghea Excited To Get To Know The Notre Dame Program

Star 2025 Georgia tight end Ryan Ghea ready to visit Notre Dame on Friday

As a part of the Pot of Gold offer event last Friday, Notre Dame extended an offer to Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton tight end Ryan Ghea. The Georgia native has quickly become one of the top names in the 2025 recruiting class at tight end nationally.

With that, Ghea has already garnered interest from several big time programs so far. Some of his notable offers so far include Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Auburn, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Colorado, Kentucky, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Louisville, Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Kansas and Indiana among others.

That level of interest is tough to navigate, especially for a sophomore. The next few months will be about trying to separate some schools from the others.

“Recruiting has been really good,” Ghea said. “Being so early, it's hard to say who is standing out cause I still have a lot to see. It’s just been a surreal opportunity so far.”

Luckily for Notre Dame, South Bend is a place he is going to see, which should help to really evaluate the fit from both sides early. Ghea and his family are making the trip to campus on Friday.

“I’m excited to see the facilities at Notre Dame,” he explained. “I really just want to understand the program more, see the history and learn about their education.”

When it comes to criteria for Ghea, the Notre Dame program does seem to check a lot of boxes. The values from both sides do seem to match.

“Education is a top priority for me,” the Georgia star said. “I also want a place where I can build a strong network and have the opportunity to make it to the NFL.”

A high level education? That’s a check. The ability to create a network that extends far beyond football? That’s another check. The opportunity to be developed to potentially play professional football at the tight end position? The proof is in the program’s history.

The fit does make a lot of sense. This upcoming visit will tell a lot about how much that fit could make sense long term in this recruitment.

Ghea is ranked as a four-star recruit according to Rivals. They have the Milton star ranked as the No. 200 overall player and No. 6 ranked tight end in the 2025 recruiting class. He is also considered the No. 22 overall player in the state of Georgia, a territory that has a long history of producing some top level talent.

The 6-5, 230-pound tight end was utilized most as a dominant blocker for Milton as a sophomore. Whether inline or split out, Ghea routinely made his impact felt in that department. In the passing game, he hauled in 11 receptions for 177 yards and one touchdown. That is an average of 16.1 yards per reception.
