Notre Dame Is Exactly What Landon McComber Is Looking For

In this story:
Since offering 2025 Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman linebacker Landon McComber in March, the Notre Dame staff has stayed in contact consistently and has made him feel like an absolute priority. Things have started to heat up tremendously but the Irish program has stayed consistent.
The program has stood out among a long list of suitors.
"I’d say Notre Dame and Tennessee are the two teams standing out most right now,” said McComber. "They send me graphics and just talk on the phone and are really staying in touch. They have just been showing love and support.”
Notre Dame has especially stayed consistent. The message has stayed true and the staff has continued to make him feel important.
"The relationship with Notre Dame has been going the right way, just been thinking about that visit I took and how it really felt special to me,” McComber explained. "Coach (Al) Golden has been letting me know about camp dates and really staying in touch with me. He has just been showing that he really is pushing for me.
"It’s been the same old message,” he continued. "It’s all about relationships and how that bond can go far with someone even after football. They convey something that is truly something I’ve been looking for.”
Notre Dame is in a strong early position, but there is a lot of work left to be done, as McComber is in no rush to make a commitment. He just wants to let the process figure itself out.
"Recruiting has been going great,” he said. "I have just been working and whoever comes, comes. I’m not really in a rush to find the school I want to go to. I want to see how everything will play out.”
McComber already boasts a long list of scholarship offers to his name. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, Oklahoma, USC, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, Colorado, Texas A&M, Michigan State, Boston College, Arizona and Cal among others.
The 6-2, 195-pound defender starred at Desert Pines High School as a sophomore. He transferred to Bishop Gorman this off-season to play on one of the better programs in the country.
As a sophomore in 2022, McComber finished second on the team with 65 total tackles in 11 games. He also recorded three tackles for loss, seven sacks and an interception.
