Linebacker Bodie Kahoun Sets Up Visit After Being Offered By Notre Dame

The 2024 linebacker board expanded again this week when Notre Dame extended an offer to Roanoke (Va.) Patrick Henry standout defender Bodie Kahoun. The Virginia native is one of the more interesting linebackers in the 2024 class, not only because of his talent, but his background as an athlete.

The football field is not the only arena that Kahoun impacts at a high level. He is currently committed to Ohio State for lacrosse as a star midfielder. Despite that commitment, several programs continue to pursue the talented linebacker for the gridiron.

Notre Dame is included among that list.

"Al Golden extended the offer to me (Tuesday) morning,” Kahoun said. "When I received the offer, I was just really excited. Growing up in Indiana, I know how special of a place Notre Dame is.”

A late riser of sorts on the football field, Kahoun is starting to hear from several notable schools recently. Things promise to get busy quickly, but so far Kahoun is just enjoying the process.

"My recruitment has been a journey with multiple opportunities given,” he explained. "I’m very happy with all of the offers and opportunities that I’ve been given so far and looking forward to more in the near future. I have been hearing from a lot of ACC schools, some Big Ten schools and even a few SEC programs. It’s been great to meet so many coaches and for them to have interest in me to that level.”

The Notre Dame program is no secret to Kahoun, especially spending some time in Indiana growing up. Despite his roots, he has yet to make the trip to the university. That is on top of his to-do list over the next few months.

“Even though I grew up in Indiana, I have actually never been on the Notre Dame campus,” Kahoun said. “I’m excited to experience South Bend for the first time very soon.”

Kahoun's recruitment is another process that has a clearly defined timeline. The summer will be dedicated toward training for his senior season of football. It plans to have a decision firmly made by then.

"My family and I have had a lot of conversations about timelines for trying to make a commitment,” Kahoun noted. "The plan right now is to make a commitment by the end of this school year.”

The 6-3, 220-pound star has a constantly expanding offer list. Some of the notable programs that have offered so far include the Irish, Tennessee, Virginia Tech and NC State among others.

Kahoun has recently taken two separate visits to Virginia Tech, a school that offered early on in January. With recruiting in a dead period, things may have slowed down in terms of visitors to Patrick Henry but Kahoun is already solidifying travel plans over the next couple of months. That includes visiting Notre Dame on March 22nd.

The dual-sport star is currently one of the top athletes on the 5-A level in Virginia. Despite his obvious connection to the state of Virginia, Kahoun actually did grow up in Zionsville, Indiana. He has his Midwest roots and should be very aware of the brand that Notre Dame boasts.
