Notre Dame Makes Top Ten For Elite Safety JaDon Blair

Notre Dame safety recruiting in the 2025 class has gotten off to a great start, already holding commitments from standouts Ivan Taylor and Ethan Long. They look to continue their momentum with Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor star JaDon Blair, who included the Irish in his recent top ten schools list.

Notre Dame was joined by Michigan, Miami, Florida State, Penn State, Maryland, South Carolina, Louisville, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

During his dominant junior campaign for Mount Tabor, Blair made a ton of plays from his safety position. Blair finished with 57 total tackles, three tackles for loss, four interceptions, one forced fumble and another fumble recovery.

The 6-4, 180-pound athlete was also utilized on the offensive side of the football for the Spartans. He hauled in 10 receptions for 255 yards and six touchdowns. That’s a stellar average of 25.5 yards per catch.

Blair is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest on the On3 ranking, currently sitting as the No. 43 overall player and No. 2 safety in the 2025 recruiting class.

Notre Dame has met its numbers need with Taylor and Long, which gives the Fighting Irish a much-needed strong safety haul. The staff has remained on Blair in hopes of adding him to that haul. While he isn't a need from a numbers standpoint, Blair has the impact talent that Notre Dame covets for it secondary, and his skillset is an ideal fit for the Irish defense.
