New Jersey Pass Rusher Darren Ikinnagbon Eyeing Potential Notre Dame Visit

Standout 2025 defensive end Darren Ikinnagbon updates his recruitment and relationship with Notre Dame

Notre Dame is still pursuing several talented defensive lineman in the 2025 class. That includes Hillsdale (N.J.) High School pass rusher Darren Ikinnagbon, who was originally offered by the Irish back in December.

Since then, Notre Dame has been checking in with the 6-5, 240-pound defensive end about once every two weeks. Ikinnagbon has been blowing up on the recruiting trail this offseason but has been showing legitimate interest in Notre Dame, amongst other schools.

“Recruiting has been great overall,” Ikinnagbon told Irish Breakdown. “I’ve had the chance to visit some really cool places, and talk to some great schools and coaches. It’s been great.

“Everything is good with Notre Dame,” he continued. “We are still building a relationship day by day. It’s been cool to get to know Coach (Al) Washington and the staff.”

While Ikinnagbon is busy setting his visit schedule for the offseason, it appears that South Bend is a place he would like to see. There’s a very good chance it will be a part of his travels when all is said and done, and cemented.

“I have several visits scheduled,” said Ikinnagbon. “I’m still finalizing everything so I haven’t announced anything yet. Notre Dame is a place that I’m interested in seeing.”

While we are still figuring out exact travel plans, we do have a great understanding for when Ikinnagbon will be making a decision. That has stayed consistent.

“I will still be committing sometime in June still,” he said. “The visits this offseason will be big for me to make a good decision.”

Notre Dame is on pace to put together a tremendous 2025 defensive line class. Ikinnagbon is certainly a player that is still on their radar. Getting him to campus will be a big step.

Ikinnagbon is putting together quite the offer list. Some of the notable schools that have extended offers so far include the Irish, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida, USC, Penn State, Miami, Texas A&M, Tennessee, South Carolina, Maryland, Pitt, West Virginia, Boston College, Duke, Iowa State, Wake Forest, Illinois, Cincinnati, Rutgers, and Syracuse among several others.

So far both 247Sports and ESPN have rated Ikinnagbon as a four-star player. They have him pegged as a top 300 player on each platform, sitting as the No. 240 overall player and No. 279 overall player in the 2025 class respectively. Judging by his offer list, his rankings are sure to rise everywhere in the future.
