Notre Dame Offer Is "A Blessing" For Texas Pass Rusher Max Granville

On Tuesday, Notre Dame extended an offer to 2025 Sugar Land (Texas) Fort Bend Christian Academy defender Max Granville, who is one of the top pass rushers in the country. The Irish staff has made a tremendous impact in the Lone Star State over the last couple of cycles and will hope to continue that in the 2025 recruiting class.

Granville went in depth on the recent Notre Dame offer. It was one that was a special moment, which continues a hectic recruiting process for the star defender.

“I was thankful to get the Notre Dame offer,” Granville told Irish Breakdown. “It's a blessing to have the opportunity. My initial thoughts were pretty much "dang, this is big”. It feels weird getting recruited by schools that seemed like a dream just a couple years ago. Marcus Freeman also popped in my head as I was thinking. He’s a great coach.

“Recruiting has been good but a little crazy,” he continued. “I really look forward to building relationships with them when that communication can really begin. I’m just blessed to be where I am.”

Along with all that attention, Granville is eyeing to do some traveling over the next few months. It’s uncertain if South Bend will be one of those destinations but travel plans are in the works.

“I plan to visit Texas Tech sometime this summer, but nothing is set in stone,” Granville said. “I’m sure I’ll be checking out a few other schools as well.”

Granville has his eyes firmly set on developing into the best version of himself on the next level. That is arguably the most important thing he is looking for from a school.

“Whatever school I believe can best develop me to become an NFL player,” he said. “That includes what scheme I could best thrive in, along with the strength and conditioning program.”

Granville is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. On3 has Granville rated as the No. 74 overall player and No. 7 EDGE in the 2025 recruiting class. ESPN also sees him as a top 100 recruit, currently pegging him as the No. 94 overall player and the No. 13 EDGE in the class.

The 6-3, 215-pound pass rusher has been garnering interest from several top programs thus far. Some of the top programs who have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, USC, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Baylor, Duke, Indiana and Kansas among others.

As a sophomore, the Texas native collected 19 sacks for the 10-4 Fort Bend Christian Academy squad. Granville also forced six fumbles on that season. On offense, he hauled in 11 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown.
