The Notre Dame staff extends an offer to IMG Academy defensive lineman Jayden Jackson

Notre Dame added to an already deep and talented defensive line board on Tuesday, extending an offer to 2024 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive lineman Jayden Jackson. The IMG standout was the 41st defensive lineman to be offered by the Irish this cycle.

Jackson boasts an incredibly impressive offer list. Some of the premier programs that have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Penn State, Miami, Florida, Texas, USC, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Maryland, Louisville, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Duke, Cal, Northwestern, Kansas and Vanderbilt among others.

Finding a role in an incredibly talented IMG Academy team is quite the feat. The defense in 2022 was especially dynamic, letting up an average of just three points per game. They also forced 30 turnovers as a unit, while holding opponents to a 2.1 yard per carry average on the ground.

The 6-2, 300-pound defensive tackle was a staple up front for the Ascenders. He was credited with 17 total tackles, six tackles for loss, a half sack and another quarterback hurry. That was in very limited time as a part of a deep rotation.

It is a massive defensive line cycle for Al Washington and the defensive staff for the Irish. They got a nice early commitment from New Jersey standout Owen Wafle and will need to fill out the rest of the class with potential impact players.
