Notre Dame Offers Florida Pass Catcher Devin Carter
After previously being committed to Florida State, 2026 Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove star wide receiver Devin Carter opted to back off of his commitment in late January. With that recruitment back open, big time programs all across college football are pursuing Carter. That includes Notre Dame, who offered him as a part of their Pot of Gold event on Sunday.
Carter boasts an elite offer list, hearing from some of the premier programs in all of college football. Some of his top offers so far include Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, USC, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida, LSU, Florida State, Penn State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Nebraska, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, UCF, NC State, West Virginia, Georgia Tech and Indiana among others.
The 6-0, 165-pound pass catcher is considered a four-star recruit by On3, 247Sports and Rivals. According to the On3 Industry ranking, Carter is currently considered the No. 30 overall player and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class.
The Georgia star comes from a football family. His father, Dexter Carter, played running back at Florida State. He was selected in the first round of the 1990 NFL Draft. During his career, Carter played for the San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets, helping the 49ers win Super Bowl XXIX. His brother, Dexter Carter Jr., also played wide receiver for Georgia Southern from 2016-2020.
