Pass Rusher Daeden Hopkins Set For First Notre Dame Visit

Notre Dame is set to take on the Pitt Panthers on Saturday, which means there will be several recruits on campus this weekend. Included on that list is 2025 Hermann (Mo.) High School defensive end Daeden Hopkins, who is a very intriguing overall athlete.

This will be Hopkins’ first visit to campus, which he is excited to experience. He already has high expectations for what the Notre Dame program brings to the table.

“I expect a great game filled with a lot of energy,” Hopkins told Irish Breakdown. “I can’t wait to meet the coaches and check out the facilities. I think it will be a great game day atmosphere in South Bend!

“They seem like they are a great school filled with a lot of talent on their football team,” he continued. “I have been communicating with Dre Brown so far. He seems like a really cool guy overall.”

He is a somewhat raw player on film but Hopkins brings a lot of upside to the table. Playing both tight end and defensive end for Hermann, Hopkins’ length and athleticism really pop.

So far Hopkins has seen interest begin to increase exponentially. His recruitment has been increasing more and more. It will be interesting to see if Notre Dame jumps into the fold following this visit.

“Recruiting has been great so far,” said Hopkins. “Some of the schools that have stood out to me are Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Iowa, and a couple more. I’m excited to continue to grow relationships with some other schools moving forward.”

Hopkins is starting to garner more and more attention on the recruiting trail. Since the start of the season, he has received offers from Kansas State, Iowa and Kansas. Schools like Nebraska, Iowa and Notre Dame are also staying in contact.

The 6-6, 210-pound athlete is currently rated as a three-star and the No. 32 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247Sports. In four games as a junior, Hopkins has recorded 26 total tackles, four tackles for loss and three sacks.

On offense, Hopkins has been a star from his tight end position. He has hauled in 19 receptions for 358 yards and four touchdowns. Hopkins has a long reception for 75 yards.
