Notre Dame continues its search for a second running back, and a new target has set an official visit to South Bend. That would be Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert standout running back Xavier Robinson, who will begin an official to Notre Dame on June 6th.

Robinson is a new target for Notre Dame, having received an offer from Irish running backs coach Deland McCullough. That offer came shortly after McCullough visited his high school.

The 6-2, 225-pound running back had a dominant junior season for Carl Albert. He racked up 2,594 rushing yards and averaged 9.4 yards per carry in 14 games. Robinson also accounted for 40 touchdowns as a junior, with all but one coming on the ground. Robinson also threw a touchdown pass this past season.

Notre Dame already has a commitment from do-it-all running back Aneyas Williams, who is an outstanding runner and pass catcher. Notre Dame is looking for a bigger back that is more of a traditional runner to complement Williams in the class. Robinson is that kind of player thanks to his physical running style. He's not a burner, but Robinson has impressive vision, nimble feet for such a big runner and he's a hammer of a back.

Notre Dame is also making a hard run at Lufkin (Texas) High School star Kedren Young and Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day standout Anthony Carrie. Young is set to visit Notre Dame the weekend of June 2-4, while Carrie will visit the Irish campus for an official the following weekend, June 9-11. Robinson's visit will be sandwiched right in between those two visits.

The Irish are also still recruiting Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel running back Darrion Dupree, but as of now he does not have a visit set up to Notre Dame.
