Notre Dame Showed Tight End Ryan Ghea An "Amazing Experience"

In this story:
One position that Notre Dame is always going to recruit and develop at a high level is tight end. That looks to remain true, with the program extending offers to some of the top tight ends in the 2025 recruiting class during the Pot or Gold event on St. Patrick’s Day.
Among the notable names, the Irish staff extended an official offer to Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton standout tight end Ryan Ghea. This past weekend, Ghea made his first trip to South Bend. From every vantage point, it looks like the staff hit this visit out of the park.
"My mom and I loved it,” Ghea explained. “It was an amazing experience. I liked the practice a lot. I also had the chance to talk with the coaches. All those conversations were good. I loved Coach (Gerad) Parker, Coach Gino (Guidugli) and Coach (Marcus) Freeman.”
Being able to meet with the coaches turned out to be a needle moving opportunity for Ghea. He continued to compliment the coaches for really making him feel at home, including the comfort to grow and develop his skills as a football player.
"Getting that one on one time with the coaches was the highlight of the trip,” Ghea said. "I also had the chance to sit in on a position meeting as well.
"Coach Parker is great,” he added. "I got the chance to meet his family. He is a great coach, loves when his players ask questions and wants them to feel comfortable doing that.”
In that meeting room, Ghea is also not alone in terms of his experiences. Let’s just say that the state of Georgia was well represented.
"Being in that meeting and being able to watch practice was good for me,” Ghea said. "I also trained in Georgia with Holden Staes, so we knew each other from that and was good to see him.”
During these initial visits, it’s important to gauge that interest and hope for a return trip in the future. That seems like a pretty safe bet for Ghea and his family.
"I’m 100 percent coming back again.”
Ghea has already garnered interest from several big time programs so far. Some of his notable offers so far include Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Auburn, Wisconsin, Ole Miss, Colorado, Kentucky, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Louisville, Duke, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Kansas and Indiana among others.
Ghea is ranked as a four-star recruit according to Rivals. They have the Milton star ranked as the No. 200 overall player and No. 6 ranked tight end in the 2025 recruiting class. He is also considered the No. 22 overall player in the state of Georgia, a territory that has a long history of producing some top level talent.
The 6-5, 240-pound tight end was utilized most as a dominant blocker for Milton as a sophomore. Whether inline or split out, Ghea routinely made his impact felt in that department. In the passing game, he hauled in 11 receptions for 177 yards and one touchdown. That is an average of 16.1 yards per reception.
