Notre Dame Fighting Irish

On Wednesday, star 2024 Katy (Texas) Paetow pass rusher Loghan Thomas will make his college decision. He announced that the commitment will be at 4:45 PM central time. Thomas will pick between a final five schools list of Notre Dame, Georgia, Oklahoma, Arizona and Texas Tech.

The 6-4, 210-pound pass rusher is considered as a four-star recruit by On3, the On3 Consensus ranking, 247Sports and Rivals. On3 currently has him the highest, pegging him as the No. 101 overall player and the No. 9 edge in the 2024 recruiting class. The Texas native is also considered a four-star recruit on the Consensus ranking.

Thomas has an incredibly impressive offer list. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers are the Irish, Georgia, Texas, USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Duke, Texas Tech, Arizona, Colorado, Cal and Kansas among others.

The timing feels very ideal for Notre Dame, who just received a visit from Thomas this past weekend. The Irish staff has done a tremendous job in this particular recruitment, hoping to continue their momentum in the state of Texas.

The visit this past week marked the second time Thomas made an unofficial visit to Notre Dame in a two month period. Notre Dame heads into his announcement with a ton of momentum in this recruitment.

One big miss during the 2023 recruiting class was the team’s inability to find a true Vyper option. Thomas fits that bill perfectly, bringing but time upside to the position. 

Notre Dame already has commitments from 2024 defensive linemen Owen Wafle, Cole Mullins and Bryce Young. If the Irish close on Thomas it would give them their first pure Vyper in at least two classes.
