Top 100 Running Back Target Anthony Carrie Schedules Official Visit To Notre Dame
Near the top of the running back board in the 2024 recruiting class for Notre Dame, Tampa Bay (Fla.) Carrollwood Day star runner Anthony Carrie is a player that has garnered a lot of interest as one of the top running backs in the nation regardless of class. On Thursday, he made Irish Breakdown aware that he has scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame on June 9-11.
Carrie is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest on Rivals, coming in as the No. 66 overall player and No. 7 running back in the 2024 recruiting class.
He boasts an impressive list of scholarship offers to choose from. Some of the notable programs who have extended offers include the Fighting Irish, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Texas A&M, Florida, Miami, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan State, Nebraska, Mississippi State, Utah, Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Auburn, Arkansas, Colorado, Ole Miss, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Indiana, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Virginia Tech among others.
In nine games as a junior, the 6-0, 185-pound runner rushed for 919 yards and 16 touchdowns. Carrie averaged 6.5 yards per carry, while hauling in another five receptions for 51 yards in the passing game.
Notre Dame has been recruiting and developing the running back position about as well as anyone in college football since Deland McCullough took over last off-season, and even beforehand. It will be interesting to see if they can close on Carrie or not.
