Notre Dame has picked up a big commitment with standout in-state offensive lineman Styles Prescod pledging to the Fighting Irish. The Hamilton (Ind.) Southeastern offensive tackle has been considered a lean to Notre Dame for some time, and now it's a done deal.

Notre Dame needed offensive tackles in the 2024 class and Prescod is the first pure tackle to commit to the Irish. He is also the first in-state player to commit to Notre Dame in the class.

The 6-6, 270-pound blocker was offered by former Irish line coach Harry Hiestand back in January. From that moment Notre Dame was the perceived leader to eventually land his commitment. Prescod returned for another visit for Notre Dame's Blue-Gold Game on April 22nd. He was very close to committing to Notre Dame that weekend, but he chose to take more time, which included continuing to form a relationship with Joe Rudolph, who replaced Hiestand following his retirement.

Other programs tried to make a push for Prescod, and he even set up a June official visit to Colorado, but Notre Dame remained front and center in his mind, and now he's a member of the 2024 recruiting class for the Irish.

Notre Dame has had some success with in-state offensive linemen. Indianapolis natives Zack Martin and Nick Martin were both multi-year starters for the Irish under Hiestand. Zack became a first round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2014 and Nick became a second round pick of the Houston Texans in 2016. Mishawaka native Braxston Cave started on the same line as Zack Martin from 2010-12. Notre Dame's current starting right tackle is former Avon standout Blake Fisher. Notre Dame also signed Lawrenceburg standout Ashton Craig as part of the 2022 class.

Prescod is the third offensive lineman to commit to Notre Dame in the 2024 class, joining Pennsylvania big man Peter Jones and Georgia native Anthonie Knapp. Prescod is ranked as the nation's No. 189 overall player and the No. 10 interior offensive lineman by On3.

Prescod earned offers from Alabama, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Duke, Illinois, West Virginia, Indiana, Purdue, Iowa State and Kansas.
