Pass Rusher Mylachi Williams Set For Blue-Gold Game Visit To Notre Dame

Notre Dame needs to add impact to the Vyper position in the 2024 recruiting class. There are several talented options on the board, including Philadelphia (Pa.) Monsignor Bonner defensive end Mylachi Williams, who is scheduled to make the trip to South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game this weekend.

Williams is one of the higher upside pass rushers in the 2024 class. Notre Dame has continued to recruit him heavily since offering back early in February. There are legitimate expectations that the Irish staff can really impress the Pennsylvania standout.

"I expect a great visit to Notre Dame this weekend,” Williams told Irish Breakdown. "I already know that I am going to have a good time there. They come with that type of reputation.

"I think I would fit in well with the program,” continued Williams. "This weekend will be able to really show that. We’ll see how it goes.”

It has been an overwhelming couple of months for Williams. He has been courted by some big time programs, including setting up a flurry of school visits. Williams has already been to West Virginia and Penn State so far this off-season, and things don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

"The recruiting process has been good,” he said. "I have really just been enjoying it all. All the coaches and schools I’ve talked to have been really inviting to me and my family.”

As far as timelines are concerned, there still isn’t a defined one for when Williams is going to make his commitment. With that in mind, this visit could go a long way into putting the Irish in play until the end.

"I’m not sure when I’m committing yet,” said Williams. "I’m sort of a late riser as a recruit and want to make sure I give programs an equal chance and make a good decision.”

Quite simply, Williams projects at a position that Notre Dame must get stronger at. This weekend will be a great opportunity to get a clearer picture for Vyper recruiting moving forward.

Williams put together a tremendous junior season for Monsignor Bonner, who ended the season with an 11-3 record. The 6-5, 210-pound pass rusher ended that campaign with 50 total tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 11 sacks for the team.

Williams has garnered interest from several notable programs so far. Some of his top offers include Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, USC, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Boston College, Pittsburgh, Duke, West Virginia, Syracuse and Rutgers among others.
