Safety JaDon Blair "Super Excited" To Return To Notre Dame For Official Visit

Star 2025 safety JaDon Blair gives insight into his official visit scheduled to Notre Dame

The 2025 safety class for Notre Dame is off to a fast start, already holding commitments from elite Florida athlete Ivan Taylor and Connecticut star Ethan Long. The Irish staff wants to make it even better, and the to target to accomplish that goal is Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor star safety JaDon Blair, who is one of the elite athletes in the class.

Blair has already been to campus, but he's set to return for an official visit to Notre Dame on June 7th. Getting Blair back on campus is huge for the staff, with a chance to close the deal before the start of the 2024 season. It’s a trip that he is very much looking forward to.

"I am super excited to get back with all the guys I met there last time,” Blair told Irish Breakdown. "That was the most fun I ever had on a visit. I love it up there.”

Notre Dame and Blair keep in constant contact and he firmly understands how high the Fighting Irish staff is on him.

"Everything has been great with Notre Dame,” Blair explained. “I just talked to Chad (Bowden) and Coach (Marcus) Freeman yesterday. They always make sure I feel the love.

"Notre Dame has always been a top school for me but they just keep continuing to rise and make me like them even more,” he continued. “I love what they have to offer and what they bring to the table and it just keeps growing on me. Notre Dame stands really high with me right now.”

Blair has also set three other official visits for this offseason. He will also be taking trips back to South Carolina (May 31st), Michigan (June 14th) and Penn State (June 21st).

The plan has always been for Blair to make his commitment before his senior season and after official visits. Notre Dame was always expected to be in the final group of schools, and now has an opportunity to close on the talented defender. Heading into these officials, the Irish are neck and neck with the Nittany Lions.

It is almost closing time. Those final trips back to each school will be incredibly important for the final decision.

During his dominant junior campaign for Mount Tabor, Blair made a ton of plays from his safety position. Blair finished with 57 total tackles, three tackles for loss, four interceptions, one forced fumble and another fumble recovery.

The 6-4, 180-pound athlete was also utilized on the offensive side of the football for the Spartans. He hauled in 10 receptions for 255 yards and six touchdowns. That’s a stellar average of 25.5 yards per catch.

Blair is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest on the On3 ranking, currently sitting as the No. 28 overall player and No. 2 safety in the 2025 recruiting class. The North Carolina native has been pursued by some of the top programs in college football, including LSU, Miami, Florida State, Tennessee, Mississippi State, NC State, Maryland, Louisville, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Duke and Wake Forest among others.
